Advanced Open Water Course
The Advanced Open Water Course is a hugely popular course and is taken after the Open Water Course.
Exploration, Excitement, Experience!
The Advanced Open Water Course is exhilarating course and can be completed at Racha Yai & Racha Noi the Phi Phi Islands and the Similans this course is perfect over two days on a day trip boat as well as a great idea as part of a Liveaboard experience.
AOW is intended to develop your understanding and, while at the same time take your scuba skills to the next level the course, will also add five different diving experiences to your logbook.
Another very popular course is the Nitrox Certification which can also be taken on a Liveaboard Boat.
To complete the course you must make five dives and as with the Open Water Course you will be given a book to read, you read the relevant five chapters chosen to correspond with your particular dives, each has its own knowledge review section at the end of the chapter.
There are requirements for this course
There are two core dives you must complete a Deep Dive which is a dive to a maximum depth of thirty metres (one hundred feet) where you will learn, amongst other things, about nitrogen narcosis and a compass dive where you will learn about underwater navigation.
The other three dives your instructor can help you choose any of the following:
• Peak performance buoyancy
• Fish identification
• Search and recovery
• Underwater Video
Each of these ‘Adventure Dives’ can also be accredited towards the first dive of the corresponding PADI Specialty Course, meaning, that you the diver will be on the correct path to gaining the sort after PADI Master Scuba Diver certification.
You can try Night Diving, especially if you do the course on a Liveaboard, which can be a little spooky at first, there are so many different kinds of creatures that come out to play and feed at night - night diving is a very well-liked scuba dive and is well worth the experience.
You will use all the basic scuba gear including:
• Snorkel and Fins
• Buoyancy Compensating Jacket (BCD)
• A Regulator
• Depth and Air Gauges
• Weight system
• Plus any special equipment needed for each individual dive.
You Will Learn
There are many different kinds of diving, so if you feel the need to work on your buoyancy skills then the Peak Performance Buoyancy Adventure Dive is a great choice. You may be interested, as so many are, in the marine life down there then the AWARE-Fish Identification Course is another great option.
We have several excellent Wreck Dives close to Phuket, the Similans and Phi Phi Island too you can dive; wrecks are teeming with life and also throw up some great dive experiences too.
The Learning Materials
You will receive your own copy of PADI’s Adventures in Diving Manual which will provide you with the knowledge of over sixteen different types of specialty diving.
• A PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization)
• Minimum age: fifteen years old (ten years old for PADI Junior Adventure Diver)
The Next Big Adventure
The next step forward is the Rescue Diver course
The price includes all transfers to and from your accommodation on the island to the boat. Most transfers are all-inclusive, however some areas, due to their location, have a surcharge.
You will be served a light breakfast on the boat upon arrival as well as lunch, which is served in-between dives.
All drinks, like water, Coffee & Tea and Milo are all-inclusive on the boat.
