​​Richelieu Rock is the most famous dive site in Thailand and situated on the Thai side just a few miles shy of the Thai / Burmese border.


This dive site is outstanding, it is not a massive site, although most companies dive here at least’s two maybe three times on one trip -that’s how good it is.

There are a couple of diving sites around the island, yet there is only one Dome or Twin Peaks as it is sometimes known as. The sheer amount of life and size of fish here is breathtaking.


The site itself is series of huge granite boulders, there is very little coral to speak of, yet what it lacks in coral it sure makes up in fish life.

It is known as one of the best dive sites for Manta Rays.


There are two sites here, Koh Bon Pinnacle which is a series of deep underwater pinnacles and The Ridge.

 

There is a small bay which is protected by the high limestone walls of the island and is an excellent place to do a sunset or night dive. Actually, several boats favour here to spend the night.

Just about 500 metres North West of the West Ridge there is a series of submerged pinnacles. This is not marked with a mooring line but can easily be found with a depth finder. 

 

Rainbow Runners, Barracuda, Trevallies and schools of Fusilier's hunting, it can be a little chaotic with so many fish flying all over the place, and where to look next can be the problem.

This magnificent dive site has 3 small pinnacles that break the surface by a few metres and drops off to around 65 metres at the deepest part.

If you are visiting Hin Muang and Hin Deang, you would normally dive Hin Muang first as this site is the trickier and a little deeper site, or so it would seem.

 

Yet they bottom out about at around 65/70 metres and on the seabed, they are actually linked.

Koh Haa has quite several amazing and diverse dive sites great and the viz is almost a sure thing and as for currents well there is hardly any especially if diving inside the lagoon.

​​Koh Haa is known for its visibility and cavern diving, remember the caverns are not caves, they are safe to go inside as you can see your entrance and exit all the time.
