Liveaboards Phuket - Thailand

The Junk

The Boat

The Junk's full moniker is The June Hong Chian Lee, and she is one of several junks that were built in Penang, Malaysia, and was built in 1962 and is one of the finest Liveaboards out of Phuket.

Originally designed for charcoal transportation, the June Hong Chian Lee was an essential part of a small trading fleet that sailed up and down the Andaman coastline all the way from Myanmar to Malaysia.

The Similan Islands are spectacular and can be visited by both a  Phuket Liveaboard or on a Day Trip Boat.

After she retired from trading charcoal in 1985 she was restored and designed into what she looks like today a classic first-rate yacht.

In 1997 she was purchased again and redesigned into a beautiful Liveaboard dive boat. June Hong is constructed mainly from a teak wood named Takien Tong.

Just being on her is a whole new experience and when she has her sails up and cruising silently through the seas she is something to behold and you will fall in love with her just like all those who sailed in her before.

Before the first dive, we serve a light breakfast nothing too heavy. You can help yourself to a steaming mug of coffee and a slice of toast and jam or cheese or some fruit.

After the first dive, it’s time for the full breakfast because we have all worked up an appetite. We have several different types of bread (each day we will offer different kinds of bread) which you can toast.

Served buffet style will be a variety of eggs, bacon, ham, fried beans, fruit yogurt. We have pancakes and warm croissants; every day is a little different. You can even try an Asian breakfast too.

In between meals we have many kinds of snacks including, cookies, cakes, Donuts, fruits.

Lunch will be served after the second dive this is usually Asian food. Normally we serve up a Rice dish with chicken, beef, seafood or pork we also have noodles too.

You can help yourself to a healthy selection of freshly prepared vegetables and afterward, there will be a large selection of local fruits.

We like to eat our dinner before the final dive of the day which is a night dive.

Our evening meal is a variety of different cuisines from around the world with each day being a different menu.

There is pasta, goulash, steaks, Mexican food, we have Fries and other selected potatoes and so much more.
