Open Water Course
The Open Water course is the most popular dive course in the world, with millions of students being certified worldwide annually.
We have some wonderful places to dive, when you take the Open Water Course, such as Racha Yai & Racha Noi and Phi Phi Islands and the Similans you can even complete this course on a Liveaboard trip.
The course is compiled into modules of dive theory, training sessions in confined water, and four open water training dives.
All Open water dives will generally be conducted from a dive boat; however, shore dives are possible.
Although it is necessary to start your preparation in the classroom for what you will experience and enjoy while you are scuba diving. The Open Water Course is not all swimming pool and classrooms:
Phuket's’ sea life is fantastic, the Andaman Sea around Phuket is full of life and some of the fish you can see are Reef Sharks, sleeping Leopard Sharks,
Hawksbill Turtles, a wide variety of Moray Eels, beautiful Wrasses, and hunting Barracudas... the list really is endless.
You may even bump into the really big fish, huge Manta Rays and the largest fish in the sea the Whaleshark all cruise these waters and they are harmless.
The Scuba Gear You Use
All equipment is supplied by the dive shop while you are on the course.
You will use all the regular scuba gear:
• Snorkel and Fins
• Buoyancy Compensating Jacket (BCD)
• A Regulator
• Depth and Air Gauges
• Weight system
What You Will Learn
The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:
• Knowledge Development will enable you to understand the basic principles of scuba diving
• Confined Water Dives in water shallow enough to stand in
• Open Water Dives to where the fun really begins
The Learning Materials
PADI offers numerous different home-study resources for the Open Water Diver course. You can use the eLearning guides available on the net and is a very handy option for those with very not much time. The most popular is the DVD and Manual package.
The PADI Open Water Diver manuals are provided to everybody on the course and are a great source for future reference.
Inside the manual, you will find all you need to know about scuba diving, the safety features and also the terms which we use.
There are five modules in the book and five DVDs to watch.
You must be 10 years or older (PADI eLearning requires an extra registration step for students under 13 years due to international internet laws)
Your Next Adventure
PADI Advanced Open Water course is the next step (five dives) or you can do the Adventure Diver Course (three dives) in a day
The price includes all transfers to and from your hotel to the boat. Most of the transfers are all-inclusive in the price, although some accommodations, due to their location, may incur a small charge.
A light breakfast will be served upon arrival on the boat and lunch in between diving. All drinks like water, coffee & tea and Milo are usually complimentary.
The price for the course, manual, PADI certification fee, Instructor, boat trip, equipment rental, tanks, and weights are usually covered in the cost.
Due to weather conditions, we cannot guarantee any particular dive site and they will be chosen during the course it is safety first as well as a large emphasis on fun.
